Our Cabañas

At Kohunbeach we offer three spacious palapa roofed, raised tile floor Cabañas looking onto our private beach and the sea.

Cabañas feature Queen-size beds and a fold out futon sofa.
Full private bath with hot and cold water showers and 110 volt electricity (from our solar panels!).
Don’t worry! There are no TVs or phones to disturb your stay.
Each cabaña has hammocks and beach chairs on a palm shaded private terrace.

The value of quality hammock time may be your most important discovery of your stay.

If you’re looking for a little quiet time in a stunning place, this is it. !

We have had the great pleasure of staying with Janet and Guillermo at Kohunbeach each year for the past seven years.  The property is beautiful, lots of trees and flowers… the cabañas are most comfortable, the beds are good, the linens are fine… the bathrooms are well appointed.  The whole is maintained very well. The beach is lovely, natural, the sea is quite calm as the reef is so near by.  We particularly value the isolation, the privacy, and the peace and quiet.  That said, the town is easy to get to (whether or not you have wheels), where there are some very nice restaurants and entertainments. There are also a couple of eateries within easy walking distance.  We are very casual birders and enjoy walking the road looking for the surprising variety of native and casual species.  Our hosts are wonderful,  very knowledgeable and helpful.  It’s also a real bargain relative to what’s available. Your place is great !

Kohun Beach Cabanas is the most peaceful, beautiful spot on the lower Yucatan.  Janet’s cabanas are spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet.  The mattresses are very  good.  We love the sound of the ocean lapping the shore just outside our door at night.  The tropical garden winds around and through the property and gives a lovely sense of privacy. Janet and Guillermo are warm and welcoming hosts.  We have visited 3 times and plan to do so many more. Diane and Loretta – Inn at the Moors
